Disney Treasure Leaving Meyer Werft Next Week From Papenburg?

Speculation Surrounding Early Departure of New Cruise Ship

Papenburg, Germany - August 12, 2023

Rumors are swirling that the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, may release its latest construction, the "Disney Treasure," a week sooner than anticipated. Usually, the vessel's departure is set for early September, but new reports claim it could leave as early as next week.

The Meyer Werft has not formally substantiated these rumors. Nevertheless, there are perceptible signs pointing to imminent vessel departure. Workers are reportedly putting in extended hours to complete last-minute touches.

The "Disney Treasure" is the second of three cruise ships ordered by Disney Cruise Line from Meyer Werft. The first ship, the "Disney Wish," was delivered in 2022. The third ship is scheduled for delivery in 2025.

The "Disney Treasure" is 1,115 feet long and 128 feet wide. It can accommodate approximately 4,000 passengers and 1,550 crew members.

If confirmed, the early departure of the "Disney Treasure" would mark a significant milestone for the Meyer Werft shipyard. It would also be a significant boost to the local economy, as the shipyard is a major employer in the Papenburg area.

Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
