Lexi Thompson Very Content With Decision To Retire From Full-Time Professional Golf

Announced September 2023

What Does This Mean For Her Future?

Lexi Thompson has officially announced she will step back from full-time LPGA professional golf after the 2024 season. Thompson made this announcement on September 11, 2023.

Thompson first played the AIG Women's Open in 2016. She had her highest finish of T8 at Woburn that year. The final major of 2023 being held at St Andrews gives her one final shot at winning her first AIG Women's Open.

What Is Next?

Thompson is still competing part-time in 2024. After that, she plans to spend more time with her family and friends.

She said, "I'm still going to play in some events, but I'm not going to be playing a full schedule anymore. I'm going to take some time off and focus on my personal life. And enjoy life a little more outside of golf.

Thompson is one of the most successful golfers in the world. She has won 11 LPGA Tour events, including the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship. She has also represented the United States in the Solheim Cup and the Olympics.

Thompson's decision to retire from full-time professional golf is a big loss for the LPGA. She is one of the most popular and successful players on tour. Her fans and supporters wish her all the best in her future endeavors!
